Nothing to do with me or this site, but a heads up for a charity auction of a signed copy of Steve McQueen (see illustration). The charity is Macmillan Cancer Support, and it’s being offered as part of Record Store Day 2015 by J.G Windows Music. As I recall there are some connections between the Newcastle branch of the shop and the band – I have a feeling Martin may have worked there, or Dave Brewis, or both – and quite a few items end up there, for example a few signed copies of “Crimson/Red” were on sale shortly after the release.

I managed to get one of the signed box sets. Windows is a classic Music shop and not you hi fidelity music shop but always a good place to visit. Paddy is a regular I understand The location of the shop in an arcade is like stepping back in time 100 years.
