This is a great little discovery, which turned up on Ebay recently. Paddy discusses his influences in a short syndicated interview for US college radio, which dates from sometime around October 1990. As, incidentally, does the little graphic I’m using to illustrate the post. Laptops have come a long way.
It came on a 12″ vinyl LP of short inserts distributed by “Thirsty Ear Inc”, with the series being officially called “Disc Drive, The Audio Journal of New Music, presented by Zenith Data Systems”. Probably had it been issued on CD as would shortly be the preferred distribution method for this sort of content it would have been binned; there is something about vinyl that invites preservation.
