This is a fairly obscure interview from March 1988, recorded from the World Service, and expertly conduced by Sarah Ward. Quite a surprising survival too: for most of us in the UK, the World Service was only available as a static encrusted short wave station, and it was often unlistenable for those of us trawling the megahertz for interesting material. This interview however was put on tape overseas with a good signal, and sounds great, even though recorded over the phone.
If anything it’s harder to find radio interviews than concert recordings, but I remain hopeful more will turn up. Keep searching those lofts.
