It’s not been a great 12 months, has it? And so much of what we used to feed our souls with has been taken from us. But there are a few little crocus blooms of Spring poking through now, the Tim Burgess group listen to Jordan (to which Paddy turned up) was one.
And then this. This wonderful slingshot direct hit into the eye of darkness and gloom. The most joyful, moving, brilliant slice of everything we’ve missed so much. And I’m left thinking, “oh what an album that could have been!”
Watch, smile, weep, and donate. Let’s change the world with music, back to what it was, and more besides. Click on the photo to get to the Facebook link, trust me, it’s Springtime returning.
#saveourvenues — that one I understand.
But what is #rehabsprout about??
Band name? Includes three former members of Prefab Sprout (and Danny Wilsons, etc.)
Well, if this is any indication of what they can do, I say: Let There Be More!
Thanks for the recommendation Tim, it’s excellent.
That was fantastic mate, great to see Gary Clark again. Thanks
Thanks Tim. Brilliant. Let’s hope and pray. And where the hell is the new album
Great to hear Gary in such fine vocal fettle. Nice project. Can’t believe I missed the ‘Jordan’ playback though – any chance you could supply a link if we can revisit it Tim?
Unrelated but … is there any footage of PS in 1990? Surely they filmed something?
What a wonderful rendition of this song. I’ve recently rediscovered Let’s Change the World with Music and found myself really blown away by how good it is. Necessary compromises aside (lack of Martin’s bass playing, synth/sampled orchestration etc.) the songwriting, arrangements and absolute passion with which this demo (…!!!) has been executed really elevated it in my estimations of the Sprout canon. Its on repeat right now. Thank you for sharing Tim, and I’m glad your excellent site is still alive!
